It was introduced by Binnie Hale in the 1932 London musical revue Bow Bells.

It was first recorded by Jack Hylton and His Orchestra on Dec. 22, 1931.


Gus Arnheim and His Coconut Grove Orchestra recorded it in 1932.

Peggy Lee recorded it in January 1957.

Ella Fitzgerald with Frank De Vol and His Orchestra
recorded it in 1957.
